There isn’t much I can add to this Feministe article on the latest line of DS games aimed at girls, except that this is being released by Ubisoft. You know, the people who gave us Jade.

It really is the result of half-assed corporate stereotyping. When I was growing up on games, girls liked the same games that boys did, and were just as likely to play. Why game developers suddenly decided this was not the case I’m not sure.
